A great school year starts now! Here are some tips to help you and your child be ready.
Easing Your Child’s Fears of Preschool
Preschool offers many benefits – it can be a great place for kids to interact with peers and learn valuable life lessons such as how to share, take turns, and follow rules.
Spend time talking with your child about preschool event before it starts. Visit your child’s classroom before school starts and ask the teacher about routines and activities.
Battling the Butterflies
Allow young children to adjust to school by talking to them about meeting new friends, arts & crafts, playing with new toys, and meeting their teachers.
Also – be sure your child gets enough sleep before the big day. Establish a reasonable bedtime so that they’ll be well rested and ready to learn in the morning.
Recognize Your Child’s Learning Style
What is your child’s learning style?
Auditory Learners – Prefer listening to explanations over reading them, and may like to study by reciting information aloud.
Kinesthetic Learners – Learn by doing and touching.
Visual Learners – Process new information by reading and looking at pictures.
